How Can My Reports Be Improved?

What is Wrong with My Standard Reports?

Every presentation and report is supposed to explain how your well your organization is doing. Almost every company's reports were developed over time for specific needs. The reports fail when they do not address your current goals. They are not clear, focused and do not address your current priorities.

What is a Performance Roadmap?

A Performance Roadmap is a series of charts focused on a single priority goal (e.g. Reduce Inventory by 20% by year end.) The charts and level of detail are selected to tell the desired story to a specific audience.

The charts are grouped in a series focused on a single Key Performance Indicator. Charts which show trends, year-over-year, competitor comparisons and ratios as necessary to clarify the performance message (See Resources for details). The series is repeated for each relevant division or business unit to simplify comparison.

Presentation

The Performance Roadmap is generated as often as new data is available. It is repeated for as long as you are focusing on the same goal. Weekly or monthly follow-up keeps your audience focused on your priorities to increase the likelihood of achieving your goal.
